Looking for last-minute St. John, USVI hotel/condo, couple nights Feb. 2012
Hi all. We're going to St. John, USVI, and staying at the Westin for 3 nights (already paid). First time in Virgin Islands; over 50. Now we'd like to go 2 or 3 days earlier but want to find a place that isn't as expensive as Westin. I've read a lot of posts on Fodor's and wonder if there is any last-minute advice for a short stay? We prefer a kitchenette or microwave. I've looked at hotels and VRBO and many of the condos have minimum stays. Has anyone used Priceline for St. John, USVI? I've heard the Westin is the only St. John property on Priceline. We might consider St. Thomas but have heard St. John is quieter.

I hate to do this on Fodors, but sometimes I have to. Post that question on this forum -- there are a few condos that you might not happen across that would be good.

We were looking for a place for one night before President's week and two nights after and found most condos had a minimum requirement. We got rooms at the St. john Inn- I think they may have a room or two with a kitchenette but I am not sure. Cruz Bay Boutique hotel might be another possibility. Although Feb is high season if you are not going President's week you might have a better chance. Try Star Villas also.

I haven't been to St. John but St.Croix is a great choice as well. Last time I was there, our group of friends rented a condo at Sugar Beach Condominiums; its quiet, is fully furnished (with a kitchen) and is right in front of the beach. They have snorkeling beautiful spots right in the beach which we loved!
