We have about 6 - 8 couples in our 40's going on vacation in October. We are looking for something very nice!! With beautiful rooms, great beach and clear water. Any suggestions.

Turks and Caicos, Grand Cayman, Anguilla and the Bahamas (especially the out Islands) for clear water and beautiful beaches.

I'm not familiar with any hotels that are adult's only unless you want an all inclusive resort. Then it's really going to be limited. Maybe look at a condo, house or villa.

October is part of prime hurricane season, that may affect your choices if you don't want to take the chance.

Look at The West Bay Club in Turks and Caicos. We loved it. Gorgeous rooms and very uncrowded beachfront. Some days we almost had the beach to ourselves! Grace Bay is gorgeous, maybe the prettiest beach I've seen in many visits to the Caribbean. But yes, do think about trip insurance if you're going in hurricane season. Check out insuremytrip.com. I found it very helpful in trips we've taken during prime hurricane-prone months.

If you are compatible, I would suggest renting 3-4 condos on Seven Mile beach in Grand Cayman. The beaches will be empty and the water clear. as noted above, it is hrricane season

Thanks for the advise. We have been to Beaches Turks and Caicos and Loved the Beaches there!! We have been very lucky traveling in Sept - Oct in the past and most of the places we are looking at actually include hurricane insurance (they give you a year to use the time you lost) because they want people to come during the off season. All inclusive works with a crowd but West Bay Club looks great and I hadn't thought of renting condos our a house so I may look into that. It's our first vacation as empty nesters so it's bittersweet!

West Bay Club is one of my favorites. The rooms are stunning gorgeous, even at a lower price point than the ultra luxury resorts.

They have in house reservations and had launched some sales lately. Call them if they can honor some recent sales.

Another option may be Seven Stars. Don't let the rack rates fool you. "like" them on Facebook, call the number on that page directly. Ask to see if they can honor some sales recently offered. They were outrageous sales! If they can't quite match them (because they are sold out of those rooms) try to negotiate anyway.

You'll get the best water in Caribbean, and really nice resorts to stay.

Another optiion, check out Somerset, with the prettiest architecture on the island.

Recently stayed at Rum Point, Grand Cayman. Great snorkeling right outside our condo. We rented a car a drove around to various spots (Turtle Farm, shopping 7-mile beach) and various restaurants. Rum Point Club was w/in walking distance w/good food. We reserved condo w/VRBO, and highly recommend them.

I would recommend a stay on 7 mile beach if you choose Grand Cayman. Its a relatively big island and if you stay around Rum point the drive to georgetown is around 40 min each way. I also felt that 7 mile beach itself is the best by far on the island.

Knowing

Palm Island in the Grenadines has the prettiest beach and extremely clear water. It is on a privately-owned Caribbean island with hundreds of coconut palms surrounded by coral reefs.
The resort is very private and an all-inclusive resort - the best we've ever stayed at - and dining is very good.
It is out of the hurricane path, so no worries!
