Celebrating my 40th. We have four other couples traveling with us. I'm looking for a 5 star hotel with great food and beautiful beach....thinking of cap juluca, the villas with private pools look nice or we could all get our own room...
Also thinking of little Dix bay.
Anyone have any suggestions??
Looking for a five star resort with 4 other couples.

Those are the two resorts I would have suggested. Been to both and they have what you are seeking. Others to consider:
On Anguilla - Cuisinart
In the BVI's - Biras Creek (Virgin Gorda) or Peter Island Resort (Peter Island).
Did you like cuisinart better than cap juluca.
Both are awesome and can't go wrong. Without knowing your tastes, can't pick one over the other for you, but both are amazing
It really depends on the person, spouse and I preferred Cap Juluca (slightly) over Cuisinart, another couple who travel with us often felt just the opposite - Cuisinart (slightly) over CJ. No right or wrong answer - just different resorts.
You don't say when you're going, but I've heard that Cap Juluca is closing for several months for an extensive and overdue renovation, so keep that in mind. We adore Cuisinart for laid back luxury, but you might also check out the brand new Viceroy Anguilla; it's a stunning property with many levels of villa accommodations and the resort would be a bit more lively for a major group birthday celebration.
We are traveling in beginning part of December, I've got it narrowed down to house in Turks and Caicos or viceroy anguilla, we really wanted to stay in a villa. The price at vicerory is almost twice as much as the house in T&C. It's a beautiful house on the beach and comes with chef and maid....since we are going to be there for only 5 days Im thinking getting to Anguilla might a little much. Once you fly into ST.Martin how long does it take to get to the vickeroy?
OK, as much as I love Anguilla, Turks is a close second and for beach access and a 5 day window at the half the price, I'd opt for the Turks house. Many direct flights out of the NYC area can have you on the beach in the afternoon. I don't find the St. Martin-Anguilla transfer bad, as I feel like my vacation has started once I'm on the chartered ferry with a beer in hand, but it does take an extra 1-3 hours to get the boat, clear various customs, and get over to the island. Either way, sounds like a wonderful trip!
hi, thought i'd respond on this thread as it's more current. i looked at your villa. it is spectacular! leeward section of the island is mainly a residential neighborhood, so will be quiet. that part of the beach is wide & has great sand. not sure if there is snorkeling you can walk to - blamona will know. otherwise you can snorkel in front of coral gardens hotel or at smith's reef on the opposite end of grace bay beach from the villa.
for a cocktail at their infinity bar.
blamona could also tell you which restaurants are best currently, but do go to the grace bay club one evening - or whenever
Biras Creek we found to have excellent food and with the new ownership in 2007 the standards in my opinion are 5 star. The drawback is it is a bit spread out so for the over 50 crowd the provide bikes if you want them to get around. The individual villas are quite nice. If you go to LuxuryLink.com you might get lucky and snare 4 villas at 35% off the rack rate with all meals. based on a 7 night trip.
