Lodging St.Kitts, Nevis, Guadelupe, Dominca

My two children (age 16,22) and I are plannint a trip in August to St.Kitts/Nevis and then Dominca and Guadelupe. We plan to boat between Dominica and Guadelupe--is that easy, are the boats frequent?

I need to know about lodging in all those places. I prefer a bungalow rather than a hotel because life will be cheaper if we can cook. We need either 2 bedrooms or 1 beroom plust fold-out couch in living room. Of course, we'd like to be near a beach and not too far from town. If I can't find a bungalow, I'll settle for a bed and breakfast. I'm planning to rent a car in Guadelupe.

Thank you, thank you, for an helpful tips.

In St. Kitts I recommend the Timothy Beach Resort. Island Paradise has self-contained condos or The Angelus.

In Nevis there is a beautiful villa call Moon Hill. www.villacaribbean.com

Thanks, Liz. I really appreciate your help.

If you had 6 days for St.Kitts/Nevis, how would you alot the time? My kids would enjoy outdoor activities. I would enjoy resort/beach/town.

On Nevis you might want to check out the Hurrican Cove bungalows/villas, which overlook the Oualie Beach. The views from there are outstanding.

When I visited Nevis last fall my husband and I stayed at Mt. Nevis Hotel. Their highest category room (can't remember exact name) is a large suite with an open plan bedroom and living room with a pull-out sofa, two balconies, large windows to let in the view of St. Kitts across the channel, and a full kitchen with full size, modern appliances. With the open plan there wouldn't be any privacy for sleeping arrangements, but it was a really nice room that felt open and spacious. Newcastle Beach, where Nisbet Plantation is located, is just a five minute drive away. We found our package at Luxury Link for 5 nights and it was an amazing bargain.

Sounds like you've got an unforgettable trip planned--hope it's everything you're looking for. I'm trying to talk my husband into a vacation on Dominica, as it looks simply gorgeous and lowkey.

If you spend three days in St. Kitts I would do the following:

St. Kitts:

Day 1:

Greg's Safaris rainforest or plantation tour www.gregsafaris.com

Day 2:

Spirit of St. Kitts catamaran excursion
You can relax at Turtle Beach Bar & Grill www.turtlebeach1.com

Day 3:

Turtle Tours Kayak & Snorkel Excursion
or visit Brimstone Hill Fortress
Do some shopping in town.

Nevis:

Day 1:

Take a tour of the island

Day 2:

Visit the Botanical Gardens

Day 3:

Hike the rainforest or climb thorugh the rainforest to the top of Nevis Peak.

You can relax at Pinney's Beach

Visit www.myislands.myeyez for other options.

Be sure to write a Trip Report when you return.

Have you made a decision re accommodations in St. Kitts?

I forgot to mention that you might enjoy visiting Caribelle Batik and the Botanical Gardens at Romney Manor in St. Kitts.

There's also the St. Kitts Scenic Railway www.stkittsscenicrailway.com

At night visit Shiggidy Shack and the Monkey Bar & Grill at Frigate Bay for dinner and a beach bonfire.
