Location ideas......ISO fun, beach destination
My husband and I are desperately needing a vacation, maybe a week long. We could go on this vacation any time between late April through late summer if needed. We have been to Mexico and would like to do something different. We fly out of the southeast (maybe Atlanta), so flights are no real problem.
We would like to go somewhere with an active night life (either very near or even at resort itself), adults only (as we like to enjoy our vacations without running, screaming children kicking water and sand on us) and maybe all-inclusive. We like to be at the beach with a really nice pool. If it had some activities at the resort or very near like, snorkeling, boating, volleyball, massages, maybe a little shopping (for souvenirs), seeing a waterfall maybe or something, that would be great! We want to hang out with other people there and socialize at activities and at the pool; not isolated and dull.
We want something fun, warm, tropical, beautiful, a little romantic, great sandy beaches, (and not in a real scary location) and memorable (in the best way) as this will be like a 2nd honeymoon for us.
What ideas/suggestions do you have? What location should we choose? Why? What hotel/resort? Is there one time that will be better than another? I appreciate all comments, as we want to reserve something in the next cpl of months, but am stumped right now.
HELP!!!!!
If it helps, we have looked at a lot of places like, Couples Resorts, Beaches Resorts, Club Med, Hedo, and such. I want the opinion of the experts, YOU, and help me to fill in the blanks of where I should go, when I should, etc. Thanks so much for all of your help in advance.

Yu didn't give a budget.
Sounds like any of the Sandals chain would work for you, adults only geared to couples. Romantic but active.
The one in Exumas is fantastic, and currently running some specials. Terrific combination of AI, yet romantic. The beaches there are fantastic. I stayed there when it was Four Seasons, it was gorgeous

Where did you stay in Mexico, and did you like it? That will give me a point of reference. Most people that love the AI resort/experience in Mexico are disappointed to find it cannot be replicated in any other destination.
My first thought would be Couples Negril or Couples Tower Island in Ocho Rios, but I agree with Blamona that Sandals Emerald Bay in Exuma would be a good choice from what you described.
Just as a FYI - Some of the Club Meds are geared towards singles. The rooms have twin beds and encourage roommate bookings. You need to check. The same applies to the Hedo resorts except they have more of sexaul undertone with au natural areas and parties.

Several years ago we stayed in Cancun in what is now called "Temptations" I believe. I have seen it change hands (online) and undergo some changes.
We enjoyed the nice staff, fun activities (water, pool side, snorkeling, games, etc), excursions, meeting some nice adults/couples to chat with, restaurants, dance club at night, nice pool side cabanas and no children running around (adults only). He enjoyed the all-inclusive part.
We are wanting to experience a different location and see new things. We want it to be sort of like a 2nd honeymoon.... fun, romantic, and memorable. We are open to most locations, just want something other than Mexico. We aren't opposed to au natural areas, although we aren't seeking that necessarily either.
As far as budget, I would be willing to go maybe $4k or so with airfare included for us both. Like I said, flying out of Atlanta, so maybe one stop over in Miami or so then off to whatever locale we choose, with your help. Is that a reasonable budget? Should I consider more/less?
I hope my responses will assist you in thinking of some places for us to go....... trying to come up with some wonderful ideas for us! He deserves it!

ANGUILLA - no beaches in the Caribbean are like the ones in Anguilla, white vanilla powder and crystal turquoise water and there are 30+ beaches to choose from, never crowded beaches, and plenty of amazing places to stay. Virtually no crime, and you will also find that it is a true Gourmet Haven as an added bonus. Just to a google search of Anguilla - Choose Images and just enjoy

I did Temptations a few yrs ago. Very singles oriented & not much to do at night. There is a disco, but we went in August (BIG MISTAKE!) & it was brutally hot, & the AC in the hotel wasn't great. The disco was so hot & smelly that no one went there. So all there was to do was hang at the outside bar, which got old. Esp since I don't drink.
Also, the hotel is on the bay side & so the ocean swimming isnt great. No one really went in, everyone used the pool. The pool was beautiful.
It's probably much nicer in the winter or spring when it's not so brutally hot.
The most beautiful beach I think I've been on is West Bay, Roatan, but it's not a night life area.
