Liquids in Carryons in the Caribbean -- Bahamas, Caymans
I'm familiar and experienced with the 3-1-1 rule for travel in the US and even parts of the Caribbean. However, lately I'm hearing that at the airport in Marsh Harbor (MHH) in the Abacos (Bahamas), the security folks are taking away not only the U.S.-permitted quart bag with no larger than 3 ounce containers, they are also taking away items which are arguably outside the restrictions, like contact lens solution and wetting drops.
I realize that different countries may have different rules (but taking away non-Rx but necessary items like contact lens supplies is just downright cruel...). Does anyone know whether there might be other places with rules like this? In particular, any idea about the Cayman Islands?

This happened to me in Tortola this past spring (contact lense solutions taken), which is why I now FedEx all essential solutions to international destinations in advance of my departure. The security person seemed to derive sadistic pleasure from it!

Fed Ex is a great idea; but it doesn't solve the problem of needing eye drops in-transit. I supposed I can get my doc to write an Rx for the pricey non-Rx drops he wants me to use multiple times a day...

Voice_for_the_animal, that would be a great solution (and what my husband does) IF you don't need stuff with you, such as contact lens supplies and eye drops.
In any event, since I've just gotten back from Grand Cayman, I can confirm it's not a problem there. They follow the US protocols there (3 ounce containers in a quart bag), and are very efficient. No problems there.
