You are on the Leeward side. You perhaps may want air conditioning if you are not a lover of topical weather. I would be ok for me but my wife might have a bit of trouble. I have not stayed there since we tend to pick windward sides of the BVI islands to get the maximum benefit of the tradewinds. We have viewed Leverick Bay from Drakes Anchorage a couple of times and it would not appear that it is an area offering much in snorkeling opportunities.

I had a look at Leverick Bay condos a couple of years ago--they aren't on the beach, and there's not much beach there at all. If I were going to VG, (and I wish I was!) I'd stay on the other end of the island. If you want specific suggestions, let me know.
We have lived in Leverick part of the year for the past 10 years. We just sold our house Vista del Mare, but it is still for rent by the new owners as we build our retirement home just above it. Vista del Mare gets rave reviews for honeymooners as it is TOTALLY private with SPECTACULAR views. Check out http://www.britishvirginislands.com/...ay/vistadm.htm.

As far as snorkeling, beaches, etc. at Leverick there are two small beaches with OK snorkeling. Around Leverick in the North Sound via dinghy are literally DOZENs of beaches and snorkeling reefs. A ten minute boat or car ride takes you to the beaches on the other end of the island.

If good snorkeling is your prime intestest perhaps there are better destinations than the BVI. It depends on what you call good snorkeling. It is been 25 years since I have seen what I call good snorkeling. If you are on the west coast, I would consider Fiji or the Mexican Riviera. If you are on the East Coast I would consider the out islands of the Bahamas.

One place on Virgin Gorda you may want to consider is Guavaberry Spring Bay--I have a brochure if you need more info on it. We stayed at Paradise Beach "Resort" which also was nice and quiet. Check out the BVI section of the TravelTalk BB--lots of good info from people who love the BVI!
