Large Family Vacation

Jump to last reply

My family...all 21 of us... are looking to go to the islands for 5 days Thanksgiving 2004. We are coming from Buffalo, Denver, Dallas, Annapolis, Philly and Florida. We are looking for upscale, all-inclusive (or partially inclusive), non-high rise, on the beach with a variety of activities (21 of us can't ever decide to do the same thing). Getting to the place is important since it is only 5 days, we don't want to spend 14 hours and $1400 getting there. We are currently looking at Roundhill in Jamaica, Coco Reef in Tobago and Paradisus Playa Conchal in Costa Rica. Anyone know anything about these or have any other suggestions?

Just up the road from Round Hill is the Tryall Club. (Not even an hour drive from Mo Bay since the new roads are finished.) This place is fantastic! Especially if there are golfers in the group (Johnny Walker Classic was held here). You can get a private villa either right on the ocean or up in the beautiful mountains with a private pool. What's so great about this place is that you get to use all of the resort amenties and you get personal golf carts to get around the huge grounds. One night we had massages right on our beach!

The villas come with a cook, maid, gardener and laundress. You are waited on hand and foot! You plan your meals with the cook when you get there. Anything you want..we had fresh fish and 3 lbs lobsters from a fish monger that came to our villa daily!

There are a couple of restaurants and a huge pool with a swim up bar at the great house. One of the restaurants is right on the beach. This was great because we went with a group (there were 15 or us)and one night my fiancee and I wanted dinner to ourselves so we took the golf cart up to the
Great House and had dinner looking out at a fabulous sunset.

One more thing...you are close enough to Montego Bay to go shopping. There is also Mayfield Falls that you can climb like Dunns River but a lot less touristy. When we went there was only one other group of people there. So if you feel like you need to leave Tryall there is plenty to do!

Check out www.tryallclub.com. There you can check out all of the villas. Let me know if you have any questions.

Round Hill was one of our choices when we were looking too...we went there to look at it while at Tryall...Tryall has all of the privacy you want but with resort amentities....We are planning a trip back next year...
