Jamaica all inclusive
Okay - earlier today I asked about thoughts on Half Moon in Jamaica and have since discovered it is too expensive.
Do you have a suggestion on another all inclusive in Jamaica? We like the idea of Jamaica because the trip from Philadelphia is easy and non-stop!
But we are open to other islands! We were in Cabos last year and liked it, but trip through Texas was long and we were stranded when ice storm hit Houston!
Thank you.

Please tell us what you are looking for in a resort so we can better help you. Do you need day time activities, nightlife, is beach or pool more important, do you want adults only or family resort, etc.

I love Negril, too, but I wouldn't go with an AI there since restaurants are good and very reasonably priced. Some small hotels to look at: COCO LA PALM- best part of the beach; IDLE AWHILE, slightly more upscale next to COCO LA PALM; CHARELA INN.

We have been to 2 AI's in Jamaica. In Negril, we stayed at the RUI Tropical Bay. It's not a resort or chain I would highly recommend though. Negril does not have many AI's, but for that area Couples Negril gets the most recommendations.
We have also stayed at the Jewell Dunn's River in Ocho Rios. We have been to many AI's throughout Mexico and the Caribbean and I give this resort spot #2 on our list. It used to be an old Sandals resorts. The food and service was very good, the room are Sandals meh, so don't pay for the upgraded rooms. I really dislike the Sandals chain, but I do love their pools.
In Montego Bay I would go with Secrets or the Iberostar. The couples resorts, there are 4, get very high recommendations. I do like their partial/full nude policy, so have never stayed there.
If you want to explore the Island, Negril is closer to many of the sightseeing attractions, then Ocho Rios. I do highly recommend going with the resorts tours or hiring a guide. We used A-Z Jamaica Planners.

You might like Couples Swept Away in Negril. Four restaurants plus juice/salad bar, emphasis on healthy & local cuisine. Beautiful beach, 3 pools, big open-air gym, every fitness activity you can imagine, but still a very laid back adult atmosphere, not a party scene. Nonstop from PHL to MBJ, then complimentary shuttle to resort which takes about 90 minutes including rest stop. Somewhat less expensive than Half Moon and much nicer beach. There are often promotions & specials from Couples.com and orbitz & other sites. Best thing about the resort is it doesn't feel like a "hotel" especially if you stay in the older section (not the verandah rooms).

I just realized there is a newish AI on the beach in Negril, AZUL SENSAKATORI. It took over one of The Beaches hotels on Sandy Bay. I've never stayed there, but the beach is nice, and they do offer an adults-only section. No idea how the reviews are.

Check out Sandals Whitehouse. The beach is the best for couples and is perfect. Really, one of the best Sandals in Jamaica IMO. Every chain is different and suites to different needs/wants. Make a list of the things you are looking for then post back so we can give some suggestions
