Jack Tar St Kitts or Sandals St Lucia?

My husband & I are looking at going to one of these resorts the week before Christmas. I've read a lot on Sandals but was wondering if anyone has any recent information on the Jack Tar resort. We've stayed at Sandals properties before & have enjoyed them- does Jack Tar measure up in food quality, variety, activities? We are in our late twenties and enjoy having a lot of activities to choose from. Are there any watersports at Jack Tar? What is there to do on St Kitts outside the resort? How's the evening entertainment at either resort? Thanks for any help!!

My husband and I recently stayed the the Jack Tar Village in St. Kitts and were disappointed. The food was the most excellent thing about the hotel. I would recommend staying somewhere else if you expect the quality of Sandals. If we ever get to go back to St. Kitts we will save up and stay at the Four Seasons Hotel on the sister island of Nevis. We were unimpressed with Jack Tar and wrote a letter to discuss our problems that occured...hopefully we'll get some type of response from them. We found that what activities were avaialable were moderate to very difficult to find (did they even exist!?!) where they were being held. Guest Relations was not open every day and were of minimal assistance. Tour desk was basically a person there to book the few tours available (Jack Tar's fault???).

Good Luck!

My wife and I went to St.kitts last Dec.
We stayed at Jack Tar. The food was great the hotel left a lot to be desired. You are far from everything.
We rented a car for three days and were glad we did.We went to turtle beach the very south end of the island. We drove around the entire island. The main town is nothing special and the island is in very run down condition.

We went to Nevis for a day and had a rental car there ( part of the deal with St. Kitts). You need a car. The islandf of nevis was small but the few beaches we stopped at were nice.

We would not go back.
