Does anyone have a suggestion as to what rooms/suites are best at the Hotel Isle de France? I've read that some of the suites facing the beach may be less than private and that some of the "garden" rooms may be close to the parking lot. Thanks.

Go to French West Indies site, The Civilized Explorer Travel Forum "Cieux.com" and ask your question. You may get a better response.
Beach rooms are great if you like to watch the sunset.Great views and privacy shouldnt be a problem.Garden rooms aint bad either. This place is 5 star allaround.

Dudley,
I stayed there 3 years ago and was in a room on the 1st floor (is the hotel 2 stories?). If it is 2 stories, pick 2nd floor. Being towards the end of the building may be better. Our room was in front of the pool, where people would be able to see in. Rooms are nice, but simple and not a lot of sound absorbing material.
