How is the weather like right now in Aruba?

In two days, I will be going to Aruba for my third time (CANT WAIT!!!); each time being in February. I went in 2003 and last year. I am wondering how the weather has been so far this month so I know what to expect when I go. In 2003, the weather was abdormaly dry as it did not rain once and winds were fairly light at just 5-15 MPH. However, last year, it showered almost every morning with the last day being a total washout and the winds were constantly blowing at 15-25MPH. The Natives there says it was like that all year in Aruba, and not to expect anymore. They also said that sometimes the wind can blow past 25MPH in February. So I am wondering if you could tell me how the weather has been so far this month in Aruba. Has it rained a lot so far and how windy has it been? Thanks so much and have a great day.

Go to www.wunderground.com - use the "Travel & Activities" drop down menu to select "Trip Planner". Enter the airport code for Aruba (AUA) and your planned dates of travel. You'll be directed to a chart showing what actual weather conditions were for every day during that period over the last 10 years.

vp, hope you get amazing weather. We were in Aruba Feb/11 & it rained a lot...torrential downpours. The roads were flooded. None of the taxi drivers wanted to go out...that's how bad it was.

In contrast, whne we were there in Feb/09 & it was gorgeous every, single day. Not a drop of rain. Clear blue skies, sunny, warm,, gorgeous sunsets...aaahhh...Heaven!

Another time we went to Aruba in December for Christams & it was the same as Feb/09.

Have fun! Love Aruba....even when it rains!!

Thanks! I was there last year too in February. I never saw Aruba so flooded before! The island is obviously not prepared for terrential downpours like they got last February. Im hoping for sun and relaxtion every day and I hope to forget about the cold Northeast weather. Thanks I hope you get your February 09 weather!

It is in right in the middle of downtown Oranjestad. The beach is on its own private island and you take about a 10 minute boat ride to get there. It is actually very secluded there and its also just offshore of the airport so you hear the planes taking off and landing. However, if you dont want to hear the noise of the planes, Palm Beach is only about 15 minutes up to road. I am very excited for tomorrow because the carnival/Marti Gras will be going on with many parades happening. Unfortunately, I am going to have to wake up at 3AM to catch my 6:20AM flight. It's all worth it though once you get there. I will keep you posted and jealous

We were there in November 2010 and we had downpours 6 days and 1 day of sunshine. I hope your luck with Aruban weather is better than mine.

If it is raining please remember that a rainy day in Aruba is better than a sunny day when you are at the office.

vp,
I remember P_M's trip.
I felt bad b/c I was one of the people who had recommended Aruba to P_M because "it never rains in Aruba".
I guess that should be "At one time, it never rained in Aruba".

P_M & DH still managed to have a pretty good time, as I recall.

So, vp,...how is the weather in Aruba today?? ((H)

OB, no reason for you to feel bad as the guide books said the same about the Aruban weather. We did have a great time as we found other things to do. Sometimes a vacation is what you make of it.

Im so sorry OB!!!! I didnt have internet in Aruba so I couldnt tell you how beautiful it was! Ill make u jealous now by telling you a detailed report of my vacation:
Friday, February 17th: Partly Sunny, 86 when I landed at 3PM. Went straight to the hotel and the pool! Ate dinner at "The Paddock/Eet Cafe." Do you know where that is? It was just OK, nothing special.

Saturday, February 18th: Partly Sunny, 86; we went to Renaissance island on Saturday. The boat ride was great and I even started to get burnt that day. There was just beautiful, relaxing weather all day! We ate dinner at Iguana Joe's that night in downtown Oranjestad and it was AMAZING!!!!!! I would recommend it any time!!!!

Sunday, February 19th: Partly Sunny, 86; after a long Mass, we just spent the day by the pool/small beach side at the Renaissance. It was so relaxing because the Renaissance is just that huge you can spend a whole vacation there. At 4PM, the Carnival Grand Parade started. Have you ever been there for that? It was quite interesting, but sadly it was a bad excuse to get drunk as there was many police officers there to assist the drunk citizens...that night, many of the resteraunts were closed so instead of just eating at a subpar resteraunt, we went to the market and made fresh burgers which tasted great in our hotel room.

Monday, February 20th: Partly Sunny, 86; have you noticed it has not rained yet? It was just a splendid week! We spent today taking a bus over to Eagle Beach as we wanted to try it out but so we walked to the bus garage downtown. The beach was nice, but there was no shade at all and we were getting really burnt so at about noon we decided to take a bus back and we would just take a boat to Renaissance Beach. Little did we know that today was a national holiday in Aruba, National Hangover Day after the parade, and the bus schedules were only going by once an hour so we waited forever for a bus to come. Finally it did and after lunch, we spent the rest of the beautiful day at the beach. That night, we walked to The Old Fisherman and it was a very good resteraunt with fresh Aruban fish.

Tuesday, February 21st: Partly Sunny, 88!!!; the best day so far weather wise!!! We headed back over to Renaissance Beach and it was once again just a very relaxing experiance. That night, we walked over to El Gaucho. That resteraunt was absoulutely amazing!!! The best steak we ever had!!! Even though my steak was worth $37.50, it was worth every bite! Every night, we just walked downtown, sat by the pool, had a drink, or occational walk by a casino.

Wednesday, February 22nd: Partly Sunny, 88; Another amazing, hot day. Today was the day we were going to get our car rental so we just relaxed by the pool until 2 when our rental came. We spent the evening driving down to San Nicolas and back up to the California lighthouse just to get a tour of the island. The island actually seems larger then only 19 miles long. Since we spent a lot of money at El Gaucho last night, we decided to buy pasta and eat at the hotel for the night. That evening when we were walking, we noticed it started to rain. But, 5 minutes later, it stopped just as quickly as it started and we enjoyed the rest of our night.

Thursday, February 23rd: Partly Sunny, 88; It was our last full day so we decided to enjoy it by first going down to Balashi and taking a tour of the plant. It was very interesting and I didnt know that they botteled and made all of their soda there and they make Coca Cola without corn syrup there. I did notice that the soda tasted different but it wasnt until Thursday that I found out. We spent the afternoon heading up to the High Rise Hotel section of Palm Beach and we spent the day there. The beach was amazing and because of this, next year we are going to change our timeshare to Playa Linda. Have you ever been there? If you have, let me know how it is. We will either keep the week we have now, or we will move the week up to the end of December/first week of January. That night, we ate at Driftwood for our last dinner. The first was amazing and I would go there again and recomend it.

Friday, February 24th: Partly Sunny, 88 early-rain came in for the first time that afternoon before our flight took off and brought the tempature down to 77 but we were already at the airport by then; it was sadly our last day!! We spent the morning going to the pool one last time and we exercised every morning to keep in shape. We ate lunch at Wendys, and then after shopping we headed down to the airport at 1PM for our 4PM flight and to return our car. The flight ended up getting delayed half an hour to Atlanta. It was very windy there and our last flight to JFK was a very windy one, but we landed. We came home to snow on the ground which was very upsetting after such a wondeful week.

If you don't mind, please answer my questions and lets keep in touch. Thanks OB!

Welcome back, vp!
Ok...you have done it! I am definitely jealous but so happy for you that you had beautiful weather that was, for the most part, rain free.

We have never stayed at Playa Linda so cannot comment on it. However, we always stay on Palm Beach (Marriott) and love it.

vacationperson77----you brought some memories for us. Some years ago we stayed at The Renaissance as a very last minute vacation to Aruba. We knew it was in the middle of town, but the price was right. Before, we had preferred The Hyatt or another property on Palm beach. We were pleasantly surprised at the out island. We loved it and spent a lot of time there.

We also thought Playa Linda look great. As I said we stayed at the Hyatt next door to Playa Linda, and also the property on the other side of Playa Linda(don't know the name as it has changed hands many times.) We had lunch a few times at Playa Linda and always thought we'd return there some day so I'll be interested to hear what you think of it next year.

I will defentily keep you posted on how my Playa Linda stay goes. I cant wait and the best part is that I am going there on December 30th so I don't have to wait until February and I will be staying until January 6th. Before then, I have Bonita Springs, FL to look forward to in July and I will be there for a week too so I can't wait for that. OB, let me know when you are going to Aruba again so I can hear about your trip and if you have ever heard of Bonita Springs, FL. TPAYT, I will defentily tell you about my December/January trip to Playa Linda and I can't wait. I saw the Hyatt too and the both look good, but we liked Playa Linda better.

Hi, vp,

Don't know anything about Bonita Springs, Florida. When in July do you go to Bonita Springs?

Just arrived back this evening from a week in Palm Beach, Florida where it rained 4/6 days.

Rainy, cloudy, very, very windy...but nice and warm. Monday & Friday we had absolutely beautiful weather...sunny & warm.....beautiful! Tues, Wed, Thurs & Saturday... not so beautiful.
But it was still nice & we had a great time.

We love Florida's South East coast.

Will let you know whne we next go to Aruba. Wish it were tomorrow!!

Im going July 6th-13 and its on the southwest coast of Florida, about an hour south of Tampa. How warm does it get in Florida during that time? Do you know? Luckily, hurricane season is not at its prime in Florida until late August/early September but we are aware that we are going during Hurricane Season so we will just have to pray for good weather.

I was in Florida back in 2003 and 2007 and 2009 and had fun all three times. I was in Orlando in 03 and 07 and Palm Beach in 2009. Have you ever been to Cocoa Beach in Florida? Beautiful beach and very close to Palm Beach...had a great job there.

I wish I was in Aruba too but only 9 monthes away!! Already counting down! Haha.
