I'm going to the Hyatt Grand Cayman in two weeks, but we plan on checking out both the Westin & Marriott.

I'll give a detailed report when I come back. Since I have also stayed @ the Marriott in Aruba, i'll be able to compare the two.

I have heard that the Marriott Grand Cayman has some of their beach restored now. But I will let you know.

Thanks, I'll be looking for your report. I just got back from the Aruba Marriott and it was wonderful. The rooms are very large, and mostly oceanview, with large balconies. Service was wonderful, and I won every night in the casino, though one night I had to play till 3 AM to make that claim. Be sure they put you on one of the upper floors as the lower ones have the view blocked by the palm trees. You'll love it.

I agree, the Marriott in Aruba was wonderful! My husband and I went there for our honeymoon, 1 year anniversary then 6 months later for my college graduation (any excuse for a vacation).

We figured this time we really should try something new.

It is hard to compare something that is already soooooooo perfect!

The Marriotts beach has come back somewhat. Last Jan. there was no beach. Now, there is some. Many chairs and unbrellas crowded onto a 5 ft. strip which is a huge improvement. Can't comment on the rooms. We stayed at the condos next door for much less money and with a huge screened in porch and a private beach.

Just got back from my stay at the Marriott in GC. I actually used my points for it and upgraded to an oceanview for about $80 USD/night which is well worth it. It is basically a 3/5 star hotel and the beach is pretty small and worn down but we enjoyed it. If you put your beach chair on the beach next to the retainer wall, the waves WILL reach you. Most people stay poolside. GC is pricey so if you want to go there, use your points, every little bit helps.

We stayed at the Marriott last August and enjoyed it. They have nice rooms (nothing fancy) and they have a good concierge service that we booked several activities through.
I liked their outdoor restaurant overlooking the beach, it was very convenient.
