How does Bermuda compare to Hawaii?

Hank:

They are very very different. Both are expensive. (You're talking more than Manhatten prices). I guess the biggest difference is size. Bermuda is a lot smaller, easier to get from side to the other BUT, you can't rent cars so you either have to take the bus (which is fairly good) or rent a scooter which is alot more harrowing than it sounds).
Beaches: Bermuda has some lovely beaches but it does not have the touristy beach strip that Hawaii has.
Service: Bermudians are civil, polite and efficient. Everyone says good morning to you.
Food: Both islands offer a variety of cuisine. There really is no Bermudian style of food. Bermuda is a cross between England and the U.S.
But it is also a little more staid than Hawaii. There is less to do (unless you golf).
It really depends on what you like but I guess the best way to some it up is this: Bermuda is a like a large country club. You are always aware that you are a visitor. Whereas Hawaii appeals to a wider variety of tourists, Bermuda has traditionally not tried to attract a rowdy, or young vacationing set.
Bermuda is great for a four-day trip. Hawaii you need two weeks.

We have never been to Bermuda but we have been to Hawaii twice. It was paradise and we loved it!!! It was beautiful beyond belief but the only problem is it is so far from the east coast so if you live on the west coast I would definetly go there instead of Bermuda.

Been to both places, loved both. Hawaii has golden beaches and very blue ocean water, Bermuda has pinkish beaches and very aqua blue ocean water. Hawaiian islands have tons of sightseeing for example they have waterfalls, mountains, volcanos, etc. Bermuda is pretty flat, a small island with less sightseeng, they have caves and cool rock formations and of course the pink beaches. Hawaii is not formal like Bermuda, I found Bermuda hospitality to be more personalized. There are some really nice hotels to choose from in both places (I liked Grand Wailea, Kea Lani in Maui and Elbow Beach or Southampton Princess in Bermuda) You cant go wrong with either place you choose but if I could only go to one or the other, my personal choice would be Hawaii (Maui).
