I am trying to decide between several small hotels on Nevis and St Kitts. We like beaches, snorkeling, and privacy and would like a small kitchen for making breakfasts and lunches.I am leaning toward Nevis over St Kitts. I am looking at Timothy Beach in St Kitts and Hurricane Cove, Oualie Beach, and Mount Nevis hotel. Anybody have any recommendations about any of these? or any other suggestions?

We have stayed at Timothy Beach and really liked it. It is a small quiet place, some of the rooms have kitchenettes. The beach is nice but has a rocky entry - you will need water shoes. Most of the rocks are in about the first 10 feet from the shore. Snorkeling is pretty decent right in front of the hotel near the breakwall - I saw a lot of fish and a small octopus. Monkeys live on the hill behind the hotel - we saw them several times during out stay. There is also a good beach with some snorkeling at the southern tip of St.Kitt's.
Nevis - only took a day trip there - the beach is magnificent but no snorkeling to speak of. So it really depends what you want snorkeling or the perfect beach?
Not meaning to discourage you, but if beaches and snorkeling are important to you, St. Kitts/Nevis are not really a particularly good choice for either.
But if you have checked out other options and have narrowed it down to those two, Hurricane Cove is close to the beach, whereas Mt. Nevis is quite a drive to the beach.
Both are very nice, but very different from each other.
We stayed at Hurricane Cove this past Summer. It was great! We spent most of our time snorkeling around Oualie Beach and lounging at Lover's Beach and Pinney's Beach. The units at Hurricane Cove can't be beat. Kitchen is fully equipped and the views are stunning. Nevis is a great place for just kicking back. Friendly people, great scenery, beaches and snorkeling. Let me know if you would like me to email more details of our trip.
St Kitts is nice, but the beaches are not great compared toother caribbean
Islands, I would not vote for Timmothy
Beach, not very good as a resort or
beach, you may se some fish there but if that all your looking for fine.
Hurricane hurt the beach and Timmothy Beach Resort is a place to hang your hat.
You can stay at timothy Beach for a song cause they have an aucttion on wheretostay.com that closes tomorrow and no bids yet.
