Well, one is a hotel smack-dab in the middle of San Juan and the other a luxury beach resort in Rincon. And Horned Dorset is much more expensive. Without a little more insight from you, it's like comparing apples to mangoes ... basically impossible. What are you looking for?
Have stayed at elconvento.com my personal choice for pre/post cruises convenient to downtown great acess to historic sites and close to cruise shps rooms grounds were fabulous but of course sort of depends on wether you want town or beach resort. booking.com good recent honest reviews discount prices on both.
Happy Hunting!
The Horned Dorset is a spectacular property -- huge, luxurious suites; beautifully landscaped grounds; a beach; and high-end dining. But Rincon is a 2-hour drive from San Juan (you'll want a rental car), and it's a fairly rustic surf town. As others have noted, it's a very different experience than you would get staying at El Convento, which is in the old section of a large, cosmopolitan city (and not on a beach).
If you had more time to spend, I would say divide your time between the two. With only 4 nights, you'd probably have to decide what kind of experience you're looking for.
