I am planning my honeymoon for June, 2000. My fiancee and I would like to find a beachfront cottage or bungalow (within a larger resort is fine) on an island that has challenging hiking, possibly mountain biking, good restaurants, and nice white sand beaches. Is there such a place?
Honeymoon with hiking, nice beaches & good restaurants?

You may want to consider Costa Rica.
One or more of the following should fit the bill:
Dominica
Puerto Rico
Dominican Republic
Jamaica
Grenada
St. Lucia

We have lived in Virgin Gorda BVI at Leverick Bay part of the year for the past 10 years. We just sold our house Vista del Mare, but it is still for rent by the new owners as we build our retirement home just above it. Vista del Mare gets rave reviews for honeymooners as it is TOTALLY private with SPECTACULAR views. Check out http://www.britishvirginislands.com/leverickbay/vistadm.htm.
As far as mountain hiking, biking, snorkeling, beaches, etc. at Leverick there are two small beaches with OK snorkeling. Around Leverick in the North Sound via dinghy are literally DOZENs of beaches and snorkeling reefs. A ten minute boat or car ride takes you to the beaches on the other end of the island. On the way you'll pass Gorda Peak at 1250 feet of rough paths -- some bike the same mountain roads -- then Savannah and Mango -- our two favorite secluded white sand beaches. Lots of websites have pics and descriptions including http://www.islandhideaways.com/virggord/virggord.html
