Honeymoon-st john, nevis and/or st lucia?

We're trying to plan our honeymoon and are overwhelmed by the options. Anyone been to Four Seasons (Nevis), Caneel Bay(St.John) or Jalousie Hilton(St. Lucia)? Which islands do you love? We're looking for romance, a bit of seclusion (but some people if we wanted to find them!) great beaches an turqoise water, a little golf, some R&R, and fabulous frozen drinks.

Four Seasons nevis is a wonderful place (if you want to spend between 500-1200US a night) It reopened on December 15th after hurricane Georges. Both Nevis and St. Kitts are tourist ready. Hurricane Georges did damage the islands, but the people did a marvelous job cleaning it up quickly.

Don't sweat the details. You cannot go wrong in any of these places. After all, you will be on your honeymoon. Check out the Nesbitt Plantation in Nevis. You may also want to consider Hawaii.
You're right - there are an unbelievable number of great options available! You've also narrowed it down to 3 great islands. I would recommend St John, though - hands down favorite. Half the island is national park - the beaches are absolutely incredible and Caneel Bay is a very romantic hideaway! The grounds are breathtaking and the chef superb! Plus, if you want a little action, you can take the ferry over to St Thomas. It's very convenient and you can have all the touristy stuff - shopping and restaurant variety (there's even a Hard Rock) and still be able to go back to your secluded island retreat.
I have not been to Nevis since the hurricane, but if it's all cleaned up it also is a very beautiful island with good beaches.
I just went to St Lucia in January - incredible scuba diving if that's your thing. Snorkeling is also fantastic, but in my opinion, St John's beaches are better. You will have a great time no matter which island you pick. Happy hunting!

Well, we went on our honeymoon in October in St. Lucia. We paid alot of money to go to Sandals and because they messed us over so badly (we are currently seeking reimbursement....but to no avail) we ended up at the Hilton in Jelouise. It was like night and day. The people at the Hilton are friendly, the food was exceptional and it was a secluded, intimate time for my new wife and I to enjoy ourselves. No golf, but it was tranquil and more low-key. I'm certainly glad you didn't ask me for advise on Sandals resorts as I have nothing good to say about them or their idea of customer satisfaction. I would not go to another one of their resorts if it were completely free.....Have a great time wherever you end up...Mark

Just returned from the Four Seasons in Nevis, if money is not an issue, and you want top rate service, food, amenities, golf, tennis, a few frozen Nevisian Smiles.... .... then this is the place that you want.

Four Seasons Nevis if you have the bucks. Was there when it opened. One of the best in the world. Also nice, quieter and less expensive on Nevis is Montpelier Plantation. Great food.
St. John is nice as well. I like Nevis better - more true Caribbean flavor. Found Caneel overrated. Not been to St. Lucia. Hear its gorgeous. St. Barts is one of my absolute favorites however...

Good luck!
My wife and I honeymooned in November, on St Lucia and St John.
The first half of our honeymoon we spent on St Lucia at Ladera, a resort literally just up the hill from the Jalousie Hilton, the second half we spent at Caneel Bay. Jalousie was the closest beach to Ladera, so we spent 3 days there sunning, kayaking, snorkeling. . . The place is beautiful; lush green, well manicured, the beach is immaculate and the water is perfect clean, clear and warm. Jalousie is nestled between the bases of the two Pitons. The views are incredible.
We were there for 5 days and did about all there is to do (hiked the rainforest, snorkeled at Anse Chastanet, walked through the volcano, saw the waterfalls and explored what can be seen in Soufriere) except scale the Pitons.
The Ladera/Jalousie part of St Lucia was perfect for what we wanted, a beautiful, sunny, clean, secluded place where we could relax after the efforts related to our wedding. It was very expensive; to get around, $80US taxi to the airport/the north island and $20US to Soufriere, and $6US for a bottle of water! If you go to St Lucia, then be sure to stay at a luxury resort ($250+/night), because St Lucia is very poor. (Note: Jalousie is infinitely more luxurious than Anse Chastanete, don't let anyone tell you otherwise)
As beautiful as the beach at Jalousie is, the beaches at Caneel Bay are better! Clearer water, better snorkeling, fewer rocks, and they're longer with whiter sand. Also, the cabana boy is far more responsive, and the banana daiquiries are better. Caneel is large, so you can find seclusion or your choice of planned activities. The restaraunts are top notch. Shopping in town or on St Thomas is very accessible, so are most other beaches on St John.
We are already putting together a return trip to Caneel. If you go there, then make to get an air conditioned room.
I'm sorry this was so long, but thank you for allowing us to relive such a great vacation even for this brief time.

So happy to hear good things about Ladera. WE are considering the open-air resort for our honeymoon in August.
Any more info on Ladera would be appreciated. I know it's not on the beach -- was this really an issue or was it easy enough to get to?

Also, would you choose Jalousie Hilton over Ladera resort?

Thanks.
