Honeymoon - please help! :)

Hello!
My fiancé and I are looking to honeymoon for approximately 5 nights/6 days. We have very little requirements:
Beach destination - (not overly crowded)
Good weather - (mid 80's or above, not too humid)
Safe
Somewhat affordable - our budget is roughly $3k for lodging/food/activities. Airfare separate.
Low key/laid back/relaxing

We are looking to enjoy some kid-free time (which we never get!) and would like to stay away from crowded resorts or places with wild nightlife. We really would just like to relax on a beach with books. I know we are dorks. lol

We have been tossing around: Mexico, Carribean. We are open to suggestions/ideas.

Any advice/tips/do's and don'ts would be greatly appreciated.

We thank you in advance.

September is the rainy season on both coasts in Mexico. Wettest month of the year. Also hot and humid.

OK - for a different sort of beach vacation (beautiful scenery but very cold water) September is the absolute BEST time of year along the California Coast. Glorious weather, pretty beaches, redwoods, even wineries.

Somewhere between Santa Cruz and Santa Barbara would be wonderful.

Just a FYI: September is hurricane season in the Caribbean, so if you do go, make sure to purchase travel insurance. The weather could be fine, but you never know!

My husband and I did travel to The Caribbean in September one year and it was sunny every day We never took a Honeymoon when we married in 1992, so 5 years ago we decided to splash out. We both had told ourselves over the years "NO Sandals NO Sandals" because we're not drinkers, we poop out by midnight and, well just not into crowds. The resorts look spectacularly lovely but too large for our liking. BUT, one did catch our eye. Whenever I see "Boutique" and "All-inclusive in same paragraph I slam on my reading breaks. We read, researched blah blah blah and although we'd been to Jamaica many times, we chose Sandals Royal Plantation. By now, you're probably aware that Sandals usually has 3 levels; Luxury, Concierge, and Butler.SRP is ALL SUITE and ALL BUTLER ***Cha-Ching*** It was sounding pretty good so far! There are only a handful of restaurants { cool to us } NO swim up bar, in fact, very small pool but lovely free form which sits atop a bluff...The beach is quite small as well, there's a West Side and then The Bob Marley Beach { you can probably figure out for yourselves what that's all about } The beach my be small albeit it is O.C.D. clean and tidy and the waves from the cove practically reach your terrace at high tide. I don't know all the prices because we booked The Prime Minister's Suite and whenever we talk about the cost of the trip, I put my fingers in my ears and go, "LALALALALALALALAAAAA" I'm fairly certain some of the suites on the lower level or in the main house may be just right for your budget; given everything is already paid for, no worries about how much you're spending on food and drink; Staff are incredibly sweet and on top of things and in short, as far as luxury goes, this little gem is unreal as far as the antiques, old world feel, it's,,,,,,,,perfect! For us it was PERFECT. I've to go check or someone else may know but believe there are only 70+ suites in the entire resort. The cove which was chosen, in Ochos Rios is VERY clear; we spent hours snorkeling every day and it forged a new "couple hobby" for the 2 of us. Swim straight off the beach and fish everywhere...we even saw a Barracuda! Last winter, we went to Turks and Caicos and stayed in a villa in Grace Bay. THAT water is AMAZING but The Providentiales are very expensive and the only all-incl. is Beaches. Best Wishes for you wedding day and planning your honeymoon!
