Honeymoon- October 2016- ABC islands

Hi all,

Looking for some help... Fiance and I are trying to plan out honeymoon for this coming October. We'd planned on Zambia as we met there, but alas flights weren't lining up and he really wanted a beach vacation.
Carib is close, which is a huge plus for him. I was open to Fiji, Bali (Seminyak, Nusa Dua, Ubud), Phi Phi/Krabi, but he's even balking at Hawaii, so Carib it seems...

I know there's a better chance we won't be hit on the ABC islands in October (9th-22nd) but I'm having a hard time finding a resort that has private villas. We did find one on Bonaire, but alas it's completely sold out for 4 of the nights we'd planned (not flexible unfortunately).

Essentially, we want a Fiji/Bali feel in the Carib. A smaller place off the beaten path, but still luxurious, not a Four Seasons type where there's 200 rooms and you're fighting for a good chair at the pool.
AI is not something we're after either, but are ok with it.

We'd be flying out of NYC and back to DFW, so open to suggestions out of the ABC islands if they're within a 6/7 hour flight.

Thanks!

Congrats on your wedding! You will not be disappointed by Aruba, the weather in October is great! However, for the off the beaten path feel you mentioned, I don't know if you'll 100% feel that in Aruba.. you will find a ton of amazing restaurants, bars, clubs and beautiful beach front properties! For private and off the beaten path have you looked into Bora Bora? (amazing!)

Here is some more info for you guys to help with planning

- http://www.fodors.com/world/australi...a-with-maupiti (some GREAT info on Bora Bora)

Hawaii would also be an AWESOME option for you guys because you have several Islands to choose from that would give you more of a remote feel, but also have some night life and incredible scenic spots!

- Kauai - http://www.fodors.com/world/north-am...a/hawaii/kauai
- Maui - http://www.fodors.com/world/north-am...sa/hawaii/maui

Congrats!! Would love to hear what you choose!

Thanks, but we've (he's) come to the decision he doesn't want to fly more than a few hours, so Carib it is. I was even open to Hawaii, even though I've never had any desire to go there before... but Carib it is!

Not to be debbie downer, but Aruba is not like Fiji at all, I'd say they're quite opposite, in every respect

Actually Caribbean doesn't ressemble Pacific islands at all
