I will be going on a honeymoon in June and am would like ideas on which island to go to. I have been on crusises in the past to St thomas St Martin and Puerto Rico. My Bride to be would like to go somewhere neither one of us have been. I love the mountians of St Thomas but dont care for the crowd.
We are 32 years old and we would like to have the option of secluded beaches and adventure. It would be nice to relax one day on the beach one day and go horse back riding snorkeling or parasaling the next. Night life (clubs) are not needed. I have the resort taken care of I have RCI and they have resorts on any of the islands. The two I have been thinking of are Aruba and Dominicain Republic I have been to neither. I have heard good things about Aruba but nothing about DR. I am open to all suggestions I want this to be a honeymoon we will never forget!
Thank you.

You are slightly mistaken - RCI DOES NOT have resorts on "any of the islands", if by that you mean "any island". True they do have associations with around 250+ resorts but the majority of them are on the Dominican Republic, Aruba, Jamaica and to a lesser extent St. Thomas and the Bahamas.
If I were you I'd visit the RCI website and review the various resort options, pick a few that most appeal to you then do some basic research on the particular islands where they are located by doing google searches using such topics as "Things to Do in NAME OF ISLAND". that will give you some idea of what's available on that island. Once you narrow your choice you can come back and ask questions about specific resorts.
Thank you for your response but I'm not tied to RCI and I can afford to stay anywhere. The reason I said I didn't need info on resorts was because I don't. I have researched the islands myself already. I was under the impression this was a place to find friendly helpful people that had already been there. I want the island most recommended then I will choose a resort THEN I will ask about it if I feel I need info. I should have been more clear I guess.
Thanks Bcjone2
take a look at st. lucia. has mtns, pretty beaches, is not crowded. is tropical & romantic. has zipline, drive through volcano, snorkeling, hiking in rainforest, and the pitons: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/d9/Pitons_offshore.jpg
if price is truly no object you might enjoy jalousie plantation, http://www.ladera.com/the-resort/ or http://www.ansechastanet.com/
fyi. no island is "most recommended". providenciales in turks & caicos is probably most popular on fodors right now, but the island is not what you're looking for. it's flat & has very little to do other than beach & snorkel/diving. on fodors we try to help folks find the island that matches their interests & desires.
I'm not familiar with what resorts RCI includes. If you want secluded beaches than Aruba and the DR are probably not what you are looking for. Aruba has great nightlife and shopping. Eagle Beach might be more secluded than Palm Beach, but in June there may be lots of families.
The DR mostly consists of mega AI resorts.
Secluded beaches and adventure also don't really coniside together.
I would suggest Turks & Caicos. Excellant beaches. Mostly water activites. Didn't see parasailing, but they have a great 2 hour guided jet ski tour.
When you went to St. Thomas, did you venture over to St. John? Nice secluded beaches there, but not much activity.
St. Lucia is a good option for a honeymoon. It's qa gorgeous Island. Beaches are not the typical white sand beaches like in other destinations, but there is plenty of activity with things to see and do. Plus you can Island hop to Barbados, St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Martinque.
It's really hard to recommend when we don't know what exactly you are looking for.
My sister recommends this place. I haven't been but it's An adults only resort. all inclusive. Jamaica

My friend went to bora bora on her honeymoon and loved every second of it.
I see a fb"friend" of mine moved to the Tortola virgin islands and his pictures are amazing the water is just beautiful .
Not sure how exciting it may be.
I'm Dominican and la romana has casa de campo which is nice too. I've been to punta cana I was not too impressed with the hotel we stayed at. But many people love punta Cana.
Good luck
Thank you for all the info so far I will research some of these places. I look foward
to getting more info from more of you on here. St Lucia is sounding pretty good.
Thank you all so much.
Hi congrats St Lucia and puntacana.com best for what you are looking for. jadmountain.com Hotel Chocolat both nice based on budget would be whereI would go. Also an RCI member like
magenspoint.com for those if budget is a consideration.
Spirit.com AA.com cheapest flights down for me.
Happy Hunting PM if needed always happy to help.
