Honeymoon help

I've looked through a bunch of the forums and haven't found what I'm looking for so was hoping someone might be able to help me out. I'm getting married in Oct and will be taking my honeymoon the second week of the month. What we're looking for...somewhere that has a nice place to stay where we can walk to the beach and have drinks brought to us. We'd also like a little town that is close enough to get to with ease to explore. Local diners, local shops, and local places that play music is what we're hoping to find (We both love live music). We aren't looking for a crazy party, but some night life would be nice. Even just little hole in the walls with the local music would suffice for us. We don't mind having other honeymooners around, but if at all possible we'd prefer to not be part of the majority on vacation. Mountains in the background, green island, white beaches and the like. I've posted this here in the carribean, but central and south America would be ok as well. We live in Houston so easy enough to get to any of those without losing days for traveling. Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to give!
