Help! Too many choices!

I am trying to plan a trip for my 30th birthday down to the Caribbean and I'll admit I have no idea where to start so any help from booking sites to departure times would be greatly appreciated. For the most part I'm just looking for a place to go with about 6-8 friends for 4nights/5days that will preferably be on a beach and near town so we can shop/go out. Not sure if an all-inclusive or per night would be the way to go. I had mostly been looking at the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Aruba and Belize, but any suggestions would help. I don't do well when provided with lots of options ;) Thank you for any help!

Time-Mid to Late April 4nights/5days (arrive wed. leave sun.)
Budget-Trying to stay under $1200 for flight and hotel.
Activities-Beaches, Golf, Snorkeling, Night Life, Casino, maybe some hiking (in no particular order)
