help choosing an island vacation!

Jump to last reply

I've been reading several posts and would like your advice on choosing an island vacation! This will be over spring break in March. 2 families with total of 4 adults and 5 kids. Have been to:

turks
Costa Rica
Jamaica
Dominican Republic
Puerto Rico

looking for great beaches, great food and other activities such as hiking, zip lining, etc. Not a huge fan of AI resorts, but sometimes they work well for the kids. Would be interested in villa rental as well, as long as close to beach and a pool. Love to snokel, and would be great to have a couple of us dive too.

Looking into St Maarten - is it a good family trip? Seems more of a party place, please advise on this. Also thought of Grand Caymens, St John, Bahamas, Barbados

Traveling from Kansas City, so really don't want to spend 12+ hours traveling. But understand will be a couple of transfers.

Thanks in advance for your recommendations!
