Havana hotel - Iberostar Parque Central or Melia Cohiba?

Jump to last reply

I'm just starting to plan a one week trip to Havana (flying from Toronto with Air Transat) the last week of November. The hotels offered with the flight are the Iberostar Parque Central or the Melia Cohiba. The Iberostar is a little more expensive but it's rated #1 on tripadvisor. We would like a comfortable room but we're not concerned with luxury. I'm more interested in the location - would like to be able to walk around, not worry about returning late at night, accessiblity to points of interest, restaurants and jazz clubs.

I would appreciate hearing the opinions of fodorites who know Havana and anyone who's stayed at either of those hotels recently. Any other tips on enjoying Havana would also be appreciated.

Thank you.
