Yes! Our family has been to the windjammer 4 times. We were just there last spring. My kids love it!We stay in a three bedroom villa which is terrific. There is a kitchen living room and every villa has great ocean views. We buy the all-inclusive package because it's so easy with kids. That includes all drinks and food. The food is great several places to choose from, and they take reservations.Love the whole place. My kids are now older teens and 20's,but we started going there several years ago.You can't find any place cooler,an all-inclusive villa beach resort. They even have a kids program for the little ones. You never feel overrun with kids at all though they are around.I know people say there are these kind of places in mexico and there probably are and even less expensive but,it's mexico not the caribbean.I don't care what people say there is a difference. You will never have to worry about getting sick either as you might in mexico. We just love the whole tropical feel of St.Lucia.The people there are some of the best you will ever meet and that can make a big difference also.Have a great time we always do.LOVE IT!

Thanks elaine, You made me feel better.. Can you tell me how much drinks are there as well as food. We usually don't like all inclusives because the food is usually not the best. But it is rather cheap 85 dollars a day and if one soda or beer is 10 dollars we should just do the inclusive for taht . thanks Also are there any side trips to other islands that you can do while on st. lucia. THanks

Lou,I don't remember how much the drinks are because we always bought the all-inclusive.They are probably the typical fare for caribbean resort.I just did not want the hassle of pulling out the wallet all the time.Besides if you buy the all-inclusive plan you never care how many or what the cost. It's so worth it,especially if you are planning on eating the majority of your meals there.I think we ate dinner out once.I don't know about going to other islands as we never did.I think some people might want to sail to the grenadines, they are pretty cool.I been to them but that was a different trip.If I were you I think thats what I might consider.By the way we do scuba and that is available at the windjammer if you would like to do that.Hope I helped,if you have any more questions just ask!

Thanks so much for the info Elaine. The only other question I had for you is about the beach, I heard that St.Lucia 's beaches were not as nice as other places inthe carribean . What do you think? Also, how was the food at the resort? I am a little nervous about it because I really want this trip to be special (our 10 year anniversary.0 THANKS AGAIN!!!

Lou,the beach at the windjammer is pretty but not that large.I mean,it's large enough to take walks on but not a huge stretch like say aruba but I've been there and I would rather be in st.lucia.If you rent a car there are some pretty nice beaches to spend the day on.You might go to Anse Chastanet just north of Soufriere it's a great beach dive and they shot parts of Superman2 there.Anse Couchon beachesare black volcanic sand which are kind of cool, and very calm water for swimming. It's very tropical and romantic but accessible only by boat.At the foot of the pitons is a crescent-shaped bay, very different. You will see it if you see the pitons, which tou have to do!Lots more to see, also try reduit beach, white sand shady palms, choc bay with coconut palms, and view fort, white sand and miles of coconut palms.I don't know what people are talking about saying not great beaches! Also you wanted to know about the food at the windjammer.I think the food is really good.We really like Papa Dons, the italian restaurant at the top of the hill-great pizza. What a view! The seafood, steaks and all of the specials are always good.We would not have gone there four times if not.It really is a romantic setting, that my kids say they would want to go there for their honeymoons! The little carts that pick you up to drive you up and down the brick hills are great! The views day and night are just unbelievable being that the windjammer is totally set in the hillside! Have a great time and don't worry you are not making a mistake you will love it! Hope I helped!

Lou,

Windjammer Landing is a wonderful resort, we went and had a wonderful time. We did not due the all inclusive because we wanted to get out and see the island. Drinks run about $5 a pop U.S., get the daily special at Jammers, man some of the drinks they made with rum are fantastic. The food is good at the resort restaurants but why limit yourself when you are celebrating your anniversary??? There are some wonderful places, Green Parrot, Great House, Coal Pot(friends of ours went, we saved for our last night but they closed for vacation) supposedly best on island.
The beach is nice and relaxing, similar to Hawaii. Lots of activities, snorkeling is okay nothing special, diving on island supposedly better.
One thing, a lot of people tell you it's dangerous but that's a joke, Go do the Jump Up in Gros Islet (pronounced Grow EElay) we went with another couple and had a blast, it is a basic street party that has food , music and alcohol. We went with another couple and had a blast, maybe we are adventuresome californians but I laughed at people who said it was dangerous, I mean there were all sorts of tourists there, the ones who were scared were probably staying at Sandals. Deal on a trip with them and you'll see what I mean. Best of luck on the trip.

Dan,I know what you mean about the rum drinks at jammers, they're terrific. Our family including older teens into 20's closed the bar every night and had a blast.I think I'm still buzzing from all the zombies!Nothing like having some special rum concocations at jammers, with the beach only steps away .GREAT PLACE!

Messageou
Like Elaine I am also a frequent visitor to the Windjammer. We will be returning there for our 5th time in a few weeks. We bought a time share after our 1st visit. I agree with everything Elaine has said about the resort, however I would opt not to go on the all inclusive plan. The restaurants are very good, but one time is enough. Dan mentioned some very good places to eat. I also really like Froggie Jacks and Thai Royal. They are both about 10 minutes away and a $10 taxi fare. We usually find someone to split the taxi with. You can also take an excursion to Martinique. Martinique is only a 20 minute plane ride away. We plan to do Martinique on this trip. Have a great time!

Message: Elaine
It's good to see someone who is as enthusiastic about the Windjammer as I am. We always look forward to going there. The people who work there are the warmest, nicest people you can meet. They all know us and give us a big welcome back every year. Elaine: If you haven't bought a timehare, it might be something to consider. With the rates they charge the timeshare pays for itself in 4-5 years. After that you have about 60 years of free vacations. I kid around with my 8 yr old and tell him that someday he'll be there with his wife and kids. It's a great place where we feel very comfortable. Take Care.
