Well if you're looking for a guide (Havana based) I'd highly recommend Pototo. Here's his info.

In addition, for some thoughts on things to do, see, eat, etc, check out these two threads that I wrote for another Cuba forum. One is specifically Havana based and the other is a blog of my most recent month long trip. I don't know if the links will work directly or if you'll have to cut and paste the whole string for each. Fingers crossed....
enjoy....

I'm assuming that the 12days will be in Havana or at least part of them.
I've recently come back from my first trip to Cuba, stayed at the NH Parque Central which is conveniently located near to Old Havana, has rooftop swimming pool and good breakfast buffet. The cocktails were better her than the famous places eg El Floridita.
Best eating was in paladares of which there are many to choose from, I particularly liked Vistamar in Miramar (and Miramar was a very interesting part of Havana). You can buy bottled water at kiosks easily.
Walked all around Havana, from Old Havana to the Hotel Nacional.Money goes quite quickly and we took all the cash we needed in advance and changed into CUC at Havana airport although there are places to withdraw against a credit card in Havana.
There are many trips that can be taken from Havana,to beaches or Viñales or Ernest Hemmingway's house (Key West house is better though) and many others. We took a car and driver outside the hotel without any prebooking for various trips, and there were usually guides in museums.
