Hello all!
We are heading to Guadeloupe the first part of March and really looking forward to the trip.
Any pros and cons on the island would be great. We are staying in Gosier which we understand has some of the best beaches.
Should we rent a car for the whole trip and were do you recommend we tour?

Beaches in Gosier are not the best on the island, but the location of Gosier is the best (personal opinion) to discover all of the island.
I would recommend you renting a car for the entire trip. The west and east parts of Guadeloupe are very different and deserve some exploration!

Be warned that smoking is supposed to be virtually ubiqitous on Guadeloupe!
I was in guadeloupe last march. We stayed in Le Moule, which is pretty dead. Be advised Guadeloupe is very expensive. (Its the first island I've been on where I was the poor folk...)We rented a car, and put about 1000miles on it in one week. I think the best value(I use the term loosely here) is the club med in st-anns. We took a day there and we loved the food. Beach is great but there is alot of nudists. Gosier was fine if you want to go out. Beach is good, but not as good as St-anns.
