I have a couple of questions regarding traveling between the islands in the Grendadines.
We are flying into Barbados and from there going on to Union Island.
I got a price quote from SVG for $175 per person for that flight? Is that a fairly decent price? I realize I don't have a lot of options so that may be my best deal.
Next we are leaving Union and going to Bequia. Does anyone fly from Union to Bequia without costing a fortune?
Another option may be to fly SVG from Union to St. Vincent and then take the ferry over to Bequia. We'd have to do that either early in the morning or towards 5:00 as SVG only has a few flights.
How far is the ferry from the airport? How much time should I leave to get to the ferry.
After our stay on Bequia we are staying in St. Vincent. Probably best would be to take the ferry back. My only problem there is it will be a Sunday. The Sunday ferry from Bequia departs at 7 or 7:30 am, with the next ferry not leaving until 4:30. I can't see getting on a ferry at 7 in the morning after our last night in Bequia, so may have to go later. Any chance of catching a boat ride with someone during the day who would be headed that way?
Lastly how is the ferry crossing from St. Vincent to Bequia. I love the idea of sailing, but am a terrible sailor as I suffer easily from sea sickness. I will deal with it, but just want to know the ride will be like.
Sorry for all the questions, but any help or input would be very greatly appreciated.
Only 171 more days until we go!!!

$175 is standard for the interisland flight. As you say, there's really no choice, so they have always charged a small fortune.
You might be able to arrange a "flag stop" Union to Bequia at a small extra fee, but best to check that when you are down there. They will make a special stop to drop you off.
Otherwise, you can fly to St. Vincent and take the ferry as you mentioned.
Depending on the weather and sea conditions, ferries in the Grenadines can be rough, so take along some medicine or whatever helps.
Yeah, Sunday transportation is tough! You'll face that in about any island.
Your trip sounds like fun!
It does sound like you've got a great trip planned!
I can't ofer any advice over what Scubamom has already written. but I can tell you that I'm glad I took some motion sickness stuff for the ferry crossing between Bequia and St. Vincent this summer. The weather was clear, but there was a good deal of left-to-right rocking motion from the rolling waves we encountered. We sat on the upper open air deck and there were times I couldn't see the horizon to either side because of the rocking motion. A few folks did get sick, but most passengers seemed to take it all in stride. I was fine, and I probably would still have been fine without the OTC stuff, but I was deinitely more comfortable for having taken it.
You may also wish to contact Alan at the Friendship Rose in Bequia.. when we were there last year, they did two sailing trips a week to the Tobago Cays, and we had friends meet us in the Cays (they came from Union via a local rental speedboat (it wasn't a water taxi, it was a little larger), that dropped them off at the Rose and they came back to Bequia with us.
It will probably cost the same as the flight, but it would be a heck of a lot more fun.
and yes -- we found the St. Vincent-Bequia ferry to be quite uncomfortable.
You may also want to think about using the Rose for your trip from Bequia to St. Vincent - I think they only sail to St. Vincent on Mondays though, so not sure if that would work into your schedule.
