My wife and I are vacationing in Grenada and do not have passports. We have gone to the US and British VI without and had no problems. Do you need them for traveling around Grenada? — miler

US citizens don't need a passport, but you will need a photo-id such as a drivers license.
If you don't have a passport, you need 2 forms of ID, at least one of which must have a photo. You could use a birth certificate or voter registration card along with a driver's license.
Although I've travelled to Grenada without a passport, I find it more convenient to have one. When returning to the US, a passport makes getting through customs and immigration a little easier.
Miler: Although you won't need passports, an original birth certificate with raised seal is a MUST, along with photo ID (driver's license is best). Voter's registrations are not used anymore, I guess because they don't have a photo. You will need them to get into Grenada and into the US. (Not inside Grenada) Have a great time!
Thanks. Although they aren't THAT expensive I may opt to save the $120 for 2 passports. Sounds like you can do a lot for that much in Grenada! — miler
