Grenada Experts: Coyaba or Rex Grenadian?

Which would you choose (Coyaba or Rex)? I've found what seems to be a good deal at the Rex -- 7 nights for $800 total for my husband and I. Coyoba also seems reasonable. I've read good things about both. Is there anything that sets one apart from the other? Is Rex more upscale? Which would you choose?

Thanks!

I haven't stayed at either of these places, but I can comment on their locations. The Rex is very close to the airport and is somewhat isolated, whereas Coyaba is on Grand Anse beach where most activities are located. I'm not sure if this makes a difference to you.

Sorry, I don't know the Rex, so can't compare, but my husband & I did stay one day/night at the Coyaba after our Windjammer cruise 2 years ago and found it very nice. We had a large room facing the pool (with swim-up bar). Grounds are nicely landscaped and location, as Brian said, is on Grand Anse beach, which is good. Restaurant was quite good, considering it was a BBQ buffet that night, and I'm usually not keen on buffets, but was worth making an exception for the great reggae band that was entertaining. Whatever you decide, I'm sure you'll enjoy Grenada - we certainly did.

Am considering the Rex or the Grand Anse Beach Palace. Both are reasonably priced and on the beach. Any preferences out there? I'm also attracted by La Sagesse which I know is off the beaten track a bit but sounds lovely. Am traveling with husband and 2 teens so thought being right on Grand Anse beach might be a bit more lively for the teens. Opinions appreciated.
