Great Exuma - Casuarina House?
I've come across a website for a rental house on Great Exuma called Casuarina House. The reviews seem positive and it sure looks cute. http://www.homeaway.com/vacation-ren...6#calendar-bar
Anyone else know anything about it? Location? Beach? Calm water? Beach bars nearby? Boat rentals?

Looks gorgeous!! It says it is only 4 miles from Georgetown so you would be within that distance of grocery shopping and restaurants, bars. You would still want to rent a car and drive down to Little Exuma one day and rent a boat and go to Stocking Island and just exploring, snorkeling, etc. There are two beach bars over there that are very popular. Minns rents boats - see google for website and phone contact.

I went to Great Exuma last summer and stayed on Stocking Island. We had a boat for the week and ventured out every day.
Your place looks fabulous and you will be close to the grocery to replenish provisions and get out and enjoy that gorgeous beach. And, there are *many* that are white sand, turquoise water and completely deserted just waiting for you to enjoy.
And, don't forget about Chat-N-Chill off of Stocking Island across the harbor. It's a fun place to hang out and chat with other vacationers.

Do most of the hang outs go on into the evening or do they dwindle down after dark. I only ask because I've read somewhere that you can't be out on the boats after dark and I was wondering how it would be getting back from a place like Chat-n-Chill.

Yes, we had to leave before dark from Chat-N-Chill ( only accessible by boat ). I didn't like hanging out after that anyway as the mosquitos were so bad.
Now, Friday Fish Fry will go on and on way past dark. It's on Great Exuma in Georgetown so having a car or bike will be needed. Or, if your boat has running lights there is a dock nearby.
Peace and Plenty has a nice bar and may have a few people there but it's pretty quiet after dark from what we could tell.
Check with Minn's Boat Rental. I *think* they required you to be off of the water at dark with their boats.

I know this house, its fabulous, check out John at Reggae Boat Adventures for great fishing, Chat-n- Chill closes at sunset and Captain Elvis runs a water taxi there all day from the government dock all day every day for $10. Fish Fry is the place to be after dark, especially Big 12 sports bar, the small inside bar at Peace and Plenty is a good haunt for fishermen at night not quite the energy of the fish fry though.
