I'm trying to picture Grande Anse Beach on Grenada, and want to make sure I have the right idea. It's a strip of beach about 1.5 miles long. How wide is it? Are you allowed to stroll along the entire beach, or are some of the beachfronts private?

I'm not the greatest at judging distances, but I'd say the width ranges from less than 50 feet at the northern and southern ends to about 250-300 feet in the middle. The entire length is public, and you can walk from one end to the other. Toward the middle of the beach there is a restaurant and bar, the Cot Bam, which sticks out toward the water and was badly damaged by Hurricane Lenny a few years ago. Depending on the tide, you may have to walk through shallow water at that point.
