Grand Cayman. Where to stay?

My wife and I are going to Grand Cayman Island in early December for five days. We need some ideas on reasonable accommodations. I looked at condos advertised on the Internet and they larger and are priced higher than our budget and objectives will allow. We are looking for something nice and reasonably priced so we could where we will do nothing for a few days but lie on the beach. The two we are considering are the Seaview Hotel and Erma Eldemirešs Guest House. Any other suggestions. Also, is seven mile beach the only beach on the island worthy for sunning and swimming? Or are there other places just as nice for relaxing. And, is it easy to find bike rentals and to get around by bike? Thank you in advance.

There is a wonder hotel across 7 mile beach, it use to be the clarion hotel but (last year) it was bought out by another hotel, I was there last year but can't remember the name. If you as a travel agent I'm sure they could tell you the name. If I can remember I'll be glad to notify you. Have a great time (I always do)

I found the name of the hotel. Grand Pavillion Hotel. I believe you cannot beat the comfort and service for the money. Yes the Westin and Hyatt are nicer but the Grand Pavillion is 3rd in ammenities and 1st in value for price.

I know it is too late for you, but this information might come in handy for someone else. Me and my family stayed at the Grand Pavilion last January, and made reservations at a very good price for a 10 day holiday this January. I totally agree this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. The combination of luxury and the relatively small size of the hotel, makes it the perfect getaway. BUT - BAD NEWS..... The hotel is out of service since Septermer 1998, I called the tourist information and asked. I do not know whether they have re-opened it under another name, but only the fax number is working.... We have made reservations for the Marriott (former Radisson) from January 6th to 15th. Anyone knows what we should expect ? One thing is for sure, it is expensive, about 100 USD pr night more that at the Grand Pavillion.

I can't stress this enough, if at all possible stay at the Westin. It has the best service, amenities, beach, and restaurants hands down. It may be a little more expensive, but it is worth it. Please look in to it- we absolutely loved it!

We stayed at the Marriott last February and was very disappointed. David is right. If at all possible stay at the Westin. It's much nicer than the Marriott. Don't believe the pictures in the brochures. The beach is no more than 10 feet wide.
Bart
