Questions for StanKase --you've recommended Goodfellas, do you have any info such as tel number or location? I can't find it in any online searches -- although we'd like to try it instead of Portofino at Marriott. We also plan to go to La Pergola, Avalon, Astrolab, and Bistro le Clochard. What about Blues? Better than Bistro? I know you recommend Larousse but they never responded to my emails. Thanks.

Goodfellow's is only 3 months old and is right at the arches within 200 yds. of La Peragola. It is similar but the Italian food was served a bit more "al dente"-good. While it is not on the water is has a pleasant social environment.
LaRousse is in Punda, I think. I just follows directions I got from the Sea Aquarium Resort. They may not no how to use computers even if they have one. But, once you arrive you can get a reservation 2-3 days in advance, except Sat. evenings, if conceriege calls. It will cost $100-$120/couple, about same as Astrolab which I found just o'k (rack of lamb). But the setting and service were quite nice.
The owner/chef and his wife at LaRousse can be a little bit stand-off-ish to tourists but if you come properly dressed-sport shirt and slacks vs. chinos or jeans and a blouse and slacks for women you will feel at home.
Blues is more informal and is good but they do not try to impress you nor are the prices as high. You cannot go wrong with either.Actually, I would go to Blues over Avalon if you run out of nights.Hope this helps. I read one comment about Portofino that was positive but besides my negative assessment I have read and heard 10 that would not return.Eat lunch at the bar or near the pool of the Marriott, if you are staying there. It is fairly good, but not exceptional. Actually we did not find any real good places for a good lite lunch. eat a big breakfast. I hope all this helps. Mangia
