Good hotel to stay in the caribbean
Thinking of going to the Caribbean in February and would like to stay somewhere with calm blue sea and close to the beach. Would like a good hotel. Can anyone recommend?

This is far too general a question. There are literally hundreds of good hotels on calm blue beaches. What do you like to do? How much are you willing to spend? Where do you live? There are a lot of posters here who can help you if you can give them an idea of what you might like, but you'll get few if any posts by just putting up a too-general question like this.

Here are my suggestions: Hotel Ku` on Anguilla, Rock House in Negril, Jamaica, Barcelo Maya Palace on the Riviera Maya, Iberostar Paraiso Lindo on the Riviera Maya, Marriot Curacao, Radisson on Aruba or Gallows Point on St. John (you need to rent a car on STJ). Any of these places have beautiful beaches and are right on the water. Rock House would be the least expensive of the above choices. Go to Trip Advisor and read other posts and look at pictures to help you make a decision.

I live in the UK and would like to travel to a caribbean island that has good birdlife as well as calm seas but a hotel close to the beach. Thinking now of Anguilla but how do you get there from the mainland? Also Barbados - anyone know if the St James area beach is flat into the sea or does it drop? Would love to go to Tobago as can get a direct flight from London but cannot find a good resort to stay in - have checked Trip Advisor too.
