We stopped our choice on Montserrat; now we need some recommendations!! We want lodging as close to the beach and other commodities as possible. (Most important factor) Budget is not an issue since this island is inexpensive.
Feel free to throw in any recommendations you might have in regards to restaurants, bars and tours. (We only know about Ziggy's and the volcano!) And any other info that might be useful. Thanks
Going to.. Montserrat!!

Congrats! by choosing Montserrat, you'll be experiencing an island that not many tourists see beyond the volcano helicopter tour.
you might want to read the trip reports here by a poster named SAnParis who is planning a return trip to Monserrat this spring, as I recall. He and his family were quite taken with the island of Montserrat.
I don't know if it even exists anymore, but many years ago there was a wonderful restaurant called the Rose and Crown. We had mountain chicken there, which are those giant frogs' legs, and it was one of the best meals I've ever had in my life.
Take a look at my prior trip reports & I'll be happy to provide what info I can. The commodities (as it were) are scattered, you'll need a car, & the beaches are really lacking in many nearby places to stay. (We drove to all of the beaches that we visited.) Keep in mind, I believe there are only two hotels on the island. Most places to stay are Villas or B & B type places. I would suggest staying w/the Leas (info in my prior posts) particularly if you have interest in the volcano as well as the history of the Island. We will be returning in February '07. I'll be out of touch a few days (after today) so I will get back to you, it just may not be promptly.
