Found very cheap Dom. Rep A.I. - but don't know anything about the location
I would greatly appreciate any/all suggestions, comments, opinions, etc on vacationing in the Dominican Republic.
I have been throughout the Caribbean on both resort-based vacations and cruises, and at the end of May I will be part of a group of four taking a little sun-filled, sandy-beached vacation. We have waited to make our reservations hoping for "last minute deals" which we have definitely found, but one of the best deals seems to be through TravelZoo to Dom. Rep. for a 4 day all inclusive to one of four Hilton properties. The locations include Boca Chica, Juan Dolio and La Romana.
Any thoughts on these locations, through "what you've heard" as well as personal experiences? Although we don't want an entirely sanitary, "over-Americanized" location, we also don't want to have to be paranoid about the water, safety issues, etc. It will be a fairly short trip (4nights/5days) so we probably won't be too adventurous- our main concerns include some sun, fun and quality girl-bonding time

Go to www.debbiesdominicantravels.com for loads of info. People on these boards had NOT had good things to say about Boca Chica.

I would definately avoid Boca Chica. Out of the 3 choices maybe La Romana would be best. What resorts are you considering as that may play a big part in the decision making.
