Food at San Juan Airport

What type of restaurants are at the Jet Blue terminal area of SJU? We have 4 hours to kill and hoped to have a long leisurely lunch.

Food at SJU is abysmal. There is no place for a leisurely lunch. Fast food and some duty fee shopping is the best you can hope for.

I agree that this airport is really bad for food; they don't even have what I consider to be be the better fast food/chain restaurant options that some airports do (e.g., Charlotte, Atlanta). I flew on AA but also walked to other terminals (to find Starbucks) and ended up with Starbucks coffee and some sort of airport quality turkey sandwich. There is an area "Isla Verde" that is within a mile or two of the airport. If you have four hours, you might want to leave the aiport to have lunch.

the food in the SJU airport quite simply sucks!
Maybe you can get a good hot dog, but that's about it.

At your own risk ... you might consider taking a taxi into isla verde to eat. When we went to anguilla last year, my DH convinced me to go to the Ritz for lunch during our 2 and a half hour layover. We did it, had a great lunch and were back in plenty of time. Others here will tell you not to risk it, but the Ritz is literally 5 minutes from the airport by taxi. We were on an american flight going to another american flight, so we had no luggage to carry etc. I would definitely do that again with a longer layover.

Agreeing with the others here...SJU does not offer much in the way of food, and I don't recall anything such as a nice restaurant. Isla Verde is very doable if you don't have to contend with luggage.

Good luck!

Near the airport, taxi over to Casa Espana. We did this a couple of years ago, had plenty of time.

There's also a Peruvian restaurant on a corner near the airport. Wish I could remember the name, but the food was very good.
