I've purchased our flights from D.C. to St. Maarten. Any advice on how to get flights from St. Maarten to St. Barth's? I found $106/person on Travelocity. Does that sound reasonable? Are their two airports on St. Maarten or are there two spellings for the same airport?
I remember hearing that I should only check my bags to St. Maarten, retrieve them, and then board my flight to St. Barth's. How much time should I leave to do this?
I hear I am in for an interesting experience flying into St. Barth's...
Thank you for any help!

There are two airports, the international one near Phillipsburg (SXM), and a small one near Marigot. We went with Winair from SM to SB. I don't know how much it should cost.
The flight to SB is memorable for its take-offs and landings.
You have to pay a departure tax in SM, but you should not have to pay it if you are in transit to SB.
I would suggest leaving at least an hour to transfer in SM, as your plane could be late. Ours was so late that we missed the last flight to SB, had to stay overnight in SM, was given chits for a room and dinner by USAIR.
I am going to St. Barts in April. I found prices flying from St. Maarten $46(per/person) one-way. I would check american express' url. They have a flight search engine that gives really good prices.
I've booked my SXM to SBH flights on Winair using Travelocity & had no problems. $106 r/t per person sounds about right.
You'll no doubt fly into Juliana airport
so give your self at LEAST 1 hour. I'd suggest longer because you will have to collect your luggage then go to the Winair counter to recheck your bags & get your boarding passes. My last trip gave me an 1 1/2 hr b/w landing in SXM & boarding my SBH flight & I felt a little rushed.
It's a short & enjoyable flight to SBH and is part of the fun in going to SBH.
Will airfares between San Juan, Puerto Rico and Anguilla be cheaper this summer than they are now? Cheapest I can find now (with flights at the times I need them to be) is $279 roundtrip. I'm not flying until late August. Is it important to book early because flights fill up? Advice requested, thanks.
