I just returned from Grenada, and though I did not stay at Flamboyant we passed it several times going back and forth to our hotel. The part of the hotel that was renovated and open looked very nice from the road, and I'm sorry that we didn't have more time on the island, as I would've liked to have sunset cocktails and maybe dinner there one night.

I tried snorkeling in a few spots and found nothing fantastic but enough to keep me interested for about an hour at a time. The beach in front of Aquarium was the best of the places I tried, followed by the beach in front of La Luna, with the beach at Lanse Aux Epines seriously trailing. I tried snorkeling at La Sagesse but I couldn't see more than about a foot in front of my face because of particules in the water. In fact, the waves were crashing on all of thes beaches we spent time at except for LAE.

The only bad meal we had was at Choo Light in LAE. We thought True Blue was just mediocre, but with a nice atmosphere. We liked Coconut Beach and Nutmeg. We really liked The Red Crab for dinner and the Aquarium for lunch. We loved Spice Island for lunch. We really liked La Luna for dinner. But the best place by far was a small place called Boots Cuisine, which operates out of Boots' house. It was head and shoulders above the rest of the food we had on the island, and it was all of local ingredients. And at EC$60 for 3 courses, it was an excellent value, too. Plus Boots and his wife Ruby are real gems.

My biggest regret was not making it to Fish Friday in Gouyave, which is up the west coast, north of St. George's. I will make damn sure that the next time I visit I'll be there.

Hello!! Lucky YOU!! I stayed in Grenada AT the Flamboyant 2.5 years ago - pre Ivan the terrible - Hurricane...

Flamboyant is a FANTASTIC hotel if you are excited about a small intimate West Indian hotel for tourists...it is not the big hotel chain with lots of pools and wait staff everywhere and drinks all the time with all the amenities...but what it was and I gather still very much is - a very popular hotel with lots of repeat visitors who are thrilled with the views...best on the island IMO...fantastic, friendly smiley staff....who are helpful but wont be in your face. The hotel was and I gather even more so because of renovation - very clean...maid staff great, great location in terms of access to both beaches, and many nice restaurants in walking distance...I was 6 months pregnant and all was great for me in terms of stairs and walk to beaches and restaurants...If you have any specific ?'s because I am rambling ask - I LOVE Gnd and equally LOVE Flamboyant!
