Rent a car and see all of St Barths. The must are Gustavia and the beaches of Saline and Gouvernors. Dont know anything about Manapany, we stayed at Sereno Beach and the staff was very friendly. The rooms were small but clean.
Manapany is an old hotel in perhaps the least desireable part of this beautiful Island. There really isn't a beach there and it's not a nice walkable area, either.
St. Barts is not a place to consume, instead it's France and a place just to BE. You'll love the other beautiful beaches, great food, friendly people and ambiance.
Have a great trip
