First time to Puerto Rico - Couple with 2yr old

Planning a last minute trip to Puerto Rico with wife and 2 year old son. Ideal would be condo-type accommodation with access to beach. Kitchenette would be a big plus with a little one.

Traveling from Boston on Jan 1, returning Jan 9. Prefer not to travel too far once on island. Friends suggest Rincon for low key beach vacation but 2 hrs from airport feels too far. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Q: What's your budget?
A: 3500-4K maybe less...?

There are a lot of condos located on Isla Verde beach, which is very close to the airport (5 minute taxi ride). You may want to check out ESJ Towers, which is a condo/hotel facility. Also, search "Isla Verde Puerto Rico condos."

I'm w/your friends, that 2 hour drive will likely save you a significant amount of $$ as well, if you plan on staying in San Juan.

If you are interested in Rincon, you may want to look into flying into Aguadilla airport. I know Jet Blue has direct flights from JFK, but I am not sure about from Boston.

I can second the recommendation for Isla Verde, specifically the Villas del Mar. These are condo/apts, with small kitchen and balcony. If you can get an apt. facing the ocean, it's heavenly. This area is also very near to restaurants, hotels and casinos. EJ

Be sure to use sunblock, especially on the 2 year old, our sun is very strong, even at this time of year. Isla Verde area is fine and a short ride from Old San Juan which I encourage you to visit. Have fun!
