My wife and I are planning a trip to Aruba in March. Our idea of vacation is lounging by the pool or beach all day followed by a nice dinner and then hitting a bar or club. We have been to Cancun and Jamaica and really loved Cancun but were disappointed in Jamaica. Aruba has the beach, weather, and food but I'm concerned about the nightlife. We enjoy a younger hip crowd but love to mingle with locals as well. Any thoughts? What are some places for me to research? Is it safe to depend on taxi's ( don't drink and drive nor party bus)? Where could I find a breakdown of the most popular places based on the night of the week (staying 7 days)? Thanks for any information.
First time to aruba

Palm Beach seemed to be the place where most of the nightlife is located. There are lots or restaurants there as well, but there are also good restaurants elsewhere. Oranjestad has some nightlife as well and it's very easy to take a taxi from Palm Beach to Oranjestad and back.
There two forums might have useful information

The taxi service is good. In a week there, we only did a rental car one day.
Taxi service (as well as local bus service) is safe and easy. There are some clubs/bars in the Palm Beach area and a few downtown. Best thing to do when you arrive is to grab a local tourist paper in your hotel lobby (daily paper and it's free) and look at the ads for music, nightclubs, etc. since the live bands and/or DJ's change frequently.
A few places that have live music and/or nightclub atmosphere:
Moomba's Beach Bar
Bugaloe Pier Bar
Confession Nightclub
Zombie Room
The Local Store
Club Hipsz
Cafe Rembrandt
Soprano's
Cafe Chaos
Thanks for all the info. Want to make this trip special for my wife and let our hair down as well. Can't wait to get there.
We own a timeshare in aruba and it is my favorite island. You can look into the kukoo bus tour. They pick you up at your resort and take you to 4 bars and a dinner as well for a reasonable price. First drink is on them at all clubs. It is fun and most people enjoy the tour it is worth it and the people are fun loving on the tour.
