First time cruiser to Aruba
I would like info that would help out a first time cruiser. Anyone who has a story or information to share please e-mail or leave a message here.

My husband and I plan on boarding the Norwegian Dream in San Juan with stops at Aruba, Tortola, Curacao and St. Thomas. Our trip is for the spring of 2000 for one week.
What do you take with you on cruises, clothing, booze, sea-sick pills, etc. What should I expect on a cruise? All information, no matter how trivial, would be helpful and greatly appreciated.

I just want to be prepared for what sounds like a wonderful cruise. Thanks

Patti: Take along clothes-casual, semi-dress and swimsuits. Take any personal or toiletry items that you may need. They will be able to tell you in advance about blow dryers and things like that if you inquire. Leave food and drink at home as the ship will have everything. They may be a little leary about bringing anything organic back on board, also. The cruise should have some dramamine (sp?) or whatever.

Don't stand on deck and just stare below at the water, especially when it's rough.

Have fun!
Hi Patti

We too are goin on the Norwegian Dream. We leave this Sunday the 13th. Everything I've read about this ship and everyone we've talked to have only had good things to say about it. I probably have over packed but when you have to dress for dinner it really makes a differance. When do you go? Maybe I'll see you on the boat

Terri

We too are going on the Norwegian Dream, leaving the 28th of Feb. My sister-in-law has been on several cruises and tells me that people wear just about anything casual. For evening wear, you'll see anything from simple to extremely ellaborate. I'm taking a black top with pallazo (sp)pants and a lacy shrug for the dress night and my husband will use his dark suit. I am very heavy so don't feel comfortable in a swimsuit but hope to stay busy anyway not swimming or sunning. We plan on going to the islands and renting a car to take some tours. Of course I hope to do some shopping too. It will be great just to get away from the snow and job for a while.

Hi! We are also going to be on the Dream leaving 2/27. Any input as far as excursions: which ones are good and which ones do we avoid, which ones can we do on our own? Also, how many formal nights and/or semi-formal nights? We are taking the cruise after attending a black tie wedding in Miami, so we will have one set of formal clothes but do we need another one? Thanks for your insight.
