We're planning our January honeymoon and the travel agent suggested Filao Beach club on St. Barths. Their website says it's closing in March for renovations. I'm concerned that it's being left "as is" until it closes. Has anyone been there lately? Is it being kept up? Thanks for any info!
Filao Beach renovation?

Best to phone them directly 011 590 590 + the # on thier website---or have your travel agent do it as they shold not recomend a place if their information is not current. Since it's your honeymoon this is not something that should be handled lightly. For about the same price as FB, however, you can perhaps book a private villa. Filao was a little run down last we saw it, hence the need for renovation. Jan is a busy time there so it's best to make these plans soon.
Hope this helps, we do SB about 3 times a year.
Yes, it has been bought by the owners of Eden Rock, just down the beach and they are closing for renovations to turn Filao into private Eden Rock beachfront villas. I strongly suggest you either use an agent who knows SBH or do your own research at www.sbhonline.com which has a wealth of info. Filao is not a great property IMHO. Congrats on your upcoming nuptials.
Thank you both for the input. As soon as I asked the travel agent the same question, she disappeared! Haven't heard back from her so have booked somewhere completely different. Based on what I've read here and asked around, we've opted to book into Grand Case and do day trips to St. Bart's and Anguilla. Thanks again!
