Ferry Transport
Hi,
I have a holiday booked in St Lucia in February but would like to fly into Barbados first and then take a boat to St Lucia the next day.
Does anyone have any information on ferry/boat travel between the islands? I'm not having much luck with my online research!

Is there ferry service between Barbados and St. Lucia? They're awfully far away from each other for a ferry service...You'd be better off taking a small local carrier airplane like LIAT or Caribbean Star in my opinion.

It's about 100 miles from St. Lucia to Barbados. Why not simply fly on Caribbean Star for around $40 one-way? It takes 30 minutes and would be far superior to a ferry. You fly out of the airport near Castries.

100 plus miles on a small ferry or boat crossing "blue water" would take the better part of a day and not be very interesting or scenic (all you'd see for most of the trip would be water and sky).

For even more of an adventure, I know there are freight ships/boats that take passengers.
They go from Barbados to different islands, including St.Lucia and Trinidad.
My roommate and several friends did the Bim-Trinidad once for Trini Carnival and hated it! They ended up flying back to Bim!

I just asked my friend, who is St. Lucian, and she looked at me like the cheese had done slid off my cracker, or the lime had done fallen off my glass rim. She has never heard of a "ferry" between St. Lucia and Barbados.
