feedback about Sandals Antigua
My fiance' and I are planning our honeymoon and have Antigua as one of our top choices. We are on a modest budget ($5K - $9) and would like to book an all-inclusive resort. The reviews I've seen for Sandals has been a real mixed bag. What other resorts can we book in our price range. Has anyone stayed at Sandals Antigua and had good experiences?

I have not stayed at Sandals - a friend of mine has for her honeymoon and loved it. However, I did visit the area where the hotel is located and walked through the grounds. Personally I did not like the area around the hotel, nor did I much like the beach - nothing really wrong with it but the water was not clear and it was crowded. It is such a big hotel, the gardens are lovely though, I'm sure the accommodation would be good, it looked too big and impersonal for me.
I would check some other options such as Cocos or Hawksbill Hotel - a modest AI in a stunning location. Galley Bay is also gorgeous but a bit more pricey.

Thank you for your feedback. I've just started my search and will check the other suggestions you made. I do think Galley Bay is out of our price range, but maybe we can find some good deals as we'll be going during off season, June of next year.

We've stayed at Sandals Antigua a couple of times. It's a beautiful resort! Great place to relax (necessary after a wedding) and the most wonderful pizza!
We were there back when it was smaller and they now call that area "The Caribbean Grove" and the tropical gardens have grown to be so beautiful- and the paths are incredible to walk at night) and we have been there since they built the Mediterranean Village. The resort is in a prime location right on Dickenson Bay. Silky white sand and nice water. Enormous pool, too.

I've also stayed at the Sandals Antigua....most of our party stayed at the new Mediterranean Village - which is like a highrise - but the rooms were gorgeous. My husband and I stayed in the Caribben Grove - had an ocean front room -which we loved. Yes, a little older than the new side of the resort - but we loved it. They also have these rondovals you can stay in.....the grounds are gorgeous. The beach is beautiful.....so many places to choose from to eat.....I would go back in a heartbeat!
