Hi..best spot for info on the D.R. is..
http://www.debbiesdominicantravel.com.
We just came back from Casa del Mar which has a magnificent beach and pool, lots of families..for more info please write and I'll send you pictures of the resort. IMO I think it was more family oriented than the Catalonia Bavaro in Punta Cana.. At CDM it's a compact resort and only a few feet to the beach from the pool with calm, warm and white sand beach.. Spoke to a father who had arrived from our area and he said his kids were in heaven.
Just got back from club med. It was wonderful. As for the kids club, most preschool/afterschool programs could learn a lesson on how organized and loving everyone was. Any questions, please feel free to e-mail me. That's how I picked the place, other recommendations!
Has anyone stayed at the Riu properties in Dominician Republic? How does the Riu Bambu compare with the Riu Palace Macao? We too want to take our 3 and 5 year olds, so want a family resort. We have been to Beaches Negril as well, we had a good time, but found the cost a little high.
