Family Friendly Resort w/ Fam of 5 (+1?)
I'm trying to plan a trip for my wife's 40th with our 5, 9, and 11 year old for Winter/Spring 2018. Last year I was looking and found it very difficult to find a resort that will allow our family of 5 to stay in 1 room together. So I'm back at it but after some of your great advice last year I'm altering my request. We are looking for a fun resort for the kids (fun pool, with slides a plus) that is also towards the upscale / luxury end of the spectrum as much as possible. Heard great things about Beaches Turks & Caicos but I think spending $12k for April break is a bit ridiculous, not to mention the $1500/plane ticket.
Would like to keep it under $800/night, and airfare under $800/ticket. Seeing how finding a place to accommodate 5 to a room is difficult, I'm also open to bringing along my DMIL and getting two rooms but staying under $1k total a night.
I'm looking for an upscale-ish resort with kids activities (or just a pool slide). Not a big fan of Jamaica, and want to stay away from Mexico.
Thank You in advance

When exactly are you planning to travel? it can have a big impact on room rates. If you can travel after Easter you are likely to get lower rates.
Five in a room is going to be difficult with your budget if staying at a full service "upscale/luxury resort so you might have to make some concessions.
Have you thought of renting a multi-bedroom villa or condo? If so, look at places like Ocean Club and Ocean Club west on Providenciales in the Turks & Caicos. They are both very family friendly "condo resorts" that have many of the same amenities as full service resorts. There are several other "condo resort" complexes on Provo so if OC or OCW don't tickle your fancy you are bound to find others.
You'll also find lots of condos on Grand Cayman so that might be an option for you and St. Thomas has plenty of condos
If you want a very family friendly resort look at the Marriott on St. Kitts and it's probably within your budget. They have a few larger suites and some multi-bedroom "time share rentals" that may solve your space problems.
Four Seasons, Nevis is noted for being very family friendly and they have an excellent children's program. You'll have to check about rates as I'm not sure the lower tier rooms can handle a group your size.
You don't say where you are flying from but $1,500 (I assume you meant coach fare PP R/T) for an airline ticket to Provo seems high unless you are coming from somewhere very far away that entails 2 or 3 connecting flights.
Why do you want to "stay away from Mexico"? It is one of the most budget friendly destinations in the Caribbean. Your accommodations dollar will go a long way so you might want to reconsider.
Hope this helps.

Check out the Westin on St John. Some of their units are time share rentals. Others come with kitchen, etc. The Westin pool is pretty great but I dont know about slides. Lots of water sports/toys available on the beach.

Good to stay away from Mexico. All rapists and drugdealers there. Hope the wall is soon finished.
Problem is people are the same everywhere so you'll find rapists and drugdealers everywhere in Caribbeans.

For those who would not know me, I have just spent one hour with a colleague from Guadeloupe actually and have a dinner tonight with a Mexican colleague.
Actually he is the guy deciding what equipment will be bought from where and I must confess that we might forget US suppliers for the moment. A pity. But ok, there are enough alternatives. Why should I be bothered if he wants to stay away from US ?
